i think the difference between the people who achieve things on the level of their dreams and those who don’t is that there are some people like us who persist even though it seems illogical or delusional, and some who stop themselves and talk themselves down. soooo we just have to keep going! wherever we end up, at least we got there with dreams in mind
as always you are very right. And very heartening.
they assume that because you’re aiming for something that will perhaps eventually pay you comfortably that it means you have that money now, or something! as though the money precedes the position, pays a visit from the future
If her daddy's rich, take her out for a meal! If her daddy's poor, just do what you feel. Speed along the lane Do a ton, or a ton and twenty-five When the sun goes down, you can make it Make it good in a lay-by

Sing along with us, dee-dee-dee-dee-dee Da-da-da-da-da, yeah, we're hap-happy Da-da-da-da-dah....
the other night i visited my friend Darcy, the former manager of Exodus Cafe, the place where i more or less started playing guitar in front of an audience. we got wasted on mojitos and beer, and then she brought out the 10 notebooks full of her writing that she’s accumulated over her 36 years.
she is trying to re-teach herself guitar, but wanted me to put music and vocals to her writing, so i basically free-styled. i don’t think i would have done it if i weren’t drunk, due to confidence issues, stagefright, etc. but it was a really interesting improvisational experiment, to put your voice and guitar to someone else’s like that without reading through before starting.
my friend stephanie recorded most of the jam, and sent me a copy of it earlier today. this is one of them, called Parallels.
i made a little music myspace of the rest, if you’re interested in the idea:
